One of the most important specifications was a true IP rating. Many cheaper and more expensive lights in this market clearly claim to have an IP67 or IP68 rating, but as soon as they have their first shower of rain on them, water manages to find its way inside the light. The Thunder work light range is rated at IP67 which stands for International Protection 6 dust tight; 7 immersion up to 1 metre and we tested every light before introducing them into the range.
LED quality is another major factor in the lumens that are generated from a light. Higher grade LEDs (or Binning, as they are regarded) will have a better lumen per watt and be more consistent than those of a lower binning quality. Thunder work lights use a quality, mid-range binning LED which helped to keep costs down, whilst keeping the performance and quality at a level appropriate to our customers’ requirements. The overall result is a quality work light at a reasonable cost.
